TOOT! TOOT! ALL ABOARD!


After a 2021 absence due to the global pandemic, we are delighted to announce that the Fun Express is about to depart again to the GREATER TOLEDO TRAIN & TOY SHOW! Grown-ups and kids alike are sure to have a “family fun day for all” at the Student Health & Activities Center at Owens Community College on Sunday, March 13th, 2022.


This first-class show features over 250 dealers bringing toy and model trains of all gauges and manufacturers as well as toys from all eras: plastic, tin, die-cast, pop culture and so much more!


There’s going to be a wide selection of distinctive toys and trains at this show just waiting to be added to your own collection! Parents and grandparents will surely relive memories from long ago when they see many wonderful toys and operating displays from their own childhood. Bring along the kids and an extra special time awaits you showing the youngsters old-time toys in operation they would otherwise never see today.


Free appraisals and repair advice on site will be offered from “Roundhouse Randy”. He's easy to find – just look for his life-sized white Tonka Truck featuring both static and operating displays!


Many famous layouts and exhibits will be operating all day long, including:


Two must-see-to-believe operating Lego layouts presented by the Michigan Lego Users Group and the Swanton Model Railroad Club. Both featuring an operating Lego City with trains made entirely out of Lego bricks. All sorts of Legos and mini figs will be available from a variety of sellers.


The Toledo tradition lives on with Toledo Toymaster's wonderful Tiedtke’s Department Store American Flyer antique operating post war “S” gauge train display.


An entire wall of vintage rare, and operating A.C. Gilbert Erector Set display area featuring toys from the 1920’s presented by members of the AC Gilbert Heritage Society. This year, a special surprise awaits with members who will be bringing operating displays that will dazzle and amaze!


Fascinating operating layouts from area groups in all gauges of toy trains; including the impressive scenic HO layout by the Hobo Crew, layouts from the Battle Creek Model RR Club, Swanton Model RR Club and the Eastwood Jr. High School after school club and more!


Robotics demonstrations from the award-winning robotics team from Toledo Public Schools own Toledo Technology Academy!


A robotics display by the Midwest R2D2 builders that will tickle the fancy of sci-fi fans and all!


Romick Railways outdoor riding train ($3 ticket required and weather permitting).

This is a must see event you will not want to miss! Adult admission on March 13th starting at 11am is just $7 each. “Early Birds” are admitted at 9am for $10 each. All children ages 12 & under are admitted to the show FREE (with one paid adult admission). The show runs until 3pm.
